I just spend the evening reading the entire thread.
The picture I posted above is Svip in October 1982 and it is me in the white jacket.
I am thrilled to see what you have done to the Old lady. She is so good looking.
I'm certain that the engine back then was very different from both you old one and you new one.
I'm looking forward to following your progress.

My family owned Svip in 1982-1983. We sailed around in Dk during the holidays.
As I recall my family were the second owner and Mick the fourth.
I have a only very good memories of sailing with Svip. That is also why I started looking for her. My children and I were spending our holiday in Bogø and I went looking at the Harbour but she wasn't there.
Google became my friend and I found this thread and wrote to Mick.

I didn't realise she had such a hard chine. The Van de Stadt I skippered of the same era wasn't that sharp an edge design, a bit smoother at the crease.
Astralobe was built of wood in Hong Kong in the wake of Stormvogel's success, but a little smaller. She sailed like a witch to windward, creaming it. Off the wind, not so great.
It will be interesting how she will look once she's rigged, I bet it'll be very similar.
Mick, you DO know where we're all coming for our summer holibobs next year, don't you?.

Given that we are all spread about a bit, I think Mick would be better off doing a tour to present his finished work.
Say half a dozen locations spread across the globe with just a reception at each for his supporters.
Something simple at each, say champagne and canapes with a live band accompaniment ice sculpture and fireworks display on the bespoke landing stage to keep his costs down?
The earlier we can all agree this the better for Mick I would say.
