Thanks Susanne, if I get stuck, I may just do that wink
But I'm pretty sure I've seen a similar product, but can't remember the name.
Not much going on the rest of this week. House guest....

You're lucky. My next few weeks will involve fitting decking. Flexi-Teek, the plastic stuff, on 2 boats.

It's just not the same satisfaction.

And it gets hotter than the real stuff! I left a sample in the sun next to some teak, and tested it with my laser heat gun.

Howdoo! Nothing much to report at the mo. I have masked the rubbing strake and hull/deck joint, removed the strake and primed both with Sika primer before sealing and screwing it back on. I am hoping to get down tomorrow to clean up, re-mask and put a nice neat bead along the top and bottom. Then fitting the blue insert to cover the screws.

I'll post some pics when it's done wink Mostly now I am just removing and sealing everything that has been dry fit already.

Cheers,
Mick smile

Well Folks, this has stalled big time! Regrettably I have to let her go frown
I have a new job as engineer, on a new build 42 meter motor yacht in Italy, so I am travelling back and forth between there and home.
Realistically, I am not going to have time for this project for the foreseeable future, and I don't want to see her deteriorate.
So, it's time to pass her on to someone who will continue.

So, if anyone here is interested, or may know someone who might be, drop me a line. I'm open to reasonable offers.
This has literally cost me thousands, in the teens, as I had no intention of letting her go.
I know I'll take a big loss. C'est la Vie!
There's a brand new Nanni 14hp, twin cylinder diesel with transmission, wiring loom, and control panel. Loads of brand new Harken T track, a new Harken traveller and car for the mainsheet, loads of old sails, probably buggered, but they'd get you going, and whatever else I can dig up.

She's on the hard in the North of Mallorca, and the hard standing is paid up until the end of March.

Noooooooo!

Is there any chance of keeping her and finishing this wonderful work in slow time? I know there's nothing more frustrating than a project you haven't got time to finish, but the work you've put in here is simply superb.

If you do sell it, I hope who ever takes it on has the skills and will to finish this off correctly. It'd be a crime to bodge it now!

I don't want her to deteriorate, and I'm not going to be around to keep an eye.
I would rather walk away than get stressed about it.

Cheers Mate, same to you! beer
Yes, someone will get a bargain. But, I've landed the job I always wanted, so onward and upward. Better to find another Guardian than let her deteriorate.

Sad Mick... I can stick up a link to this thread on a Norwegian boat forum for you if you like, lot of boatsmen here, though the logistics coupled with the punitive import taxes might well be be prohibitive...

Hope Nuvite II doesn't go the same way, and remember I have first dibs tongue out
