Err.. no.

So, a lot of doomsdayers sat scratching their heads today then I guess hehe

More interesting was the object that smacked into the sun on the weekend of 1st/2nd Oct. No wonder it was so warm! smile

I Took this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedd...

From this site

http://digitaljournal.com/article/311009

The video I linked to is supposed to be a speeded up version of what they are taking about on the site.

Has anybody got another explanation to what is being shown in the clip ?

On a completely unrelated note, I like Stephen Frys outbursts at times with some interesting words in an interesting order, one of then was "stool water of the highest order" I think. Like the guy says in the vid, he has no idea. Sums it up.

Have some proper science

Comets and asteroids have interesting lives, some are dirty snow and ice, some just a loose piles of rubbles bound by gravity then twisted by it as they are affected by larger objects, or they suffer other fates. There is no need for gubbmints blowing them up with nukes (which would probably not work too well anyway).

Another famous one to break up was Shoemaker Levy, that ended up in Jupiter.

Interesting bit here

Just found this one.

He thinks it is a lens flare but then goes on to say he's never seen a comet change direction.

Looks almost like lens flare from Jupiter.

My other explanation is that it's probably bks.

smile

Just seen that the video has been speeded up, in that case, it's probably just bks.

Comets change their direction all the time. Their orbital paths can be altered by an encounter with another planet, such as Jupiter or Saturn.

Be interesting to see where that clip was from. Originally, not youchube.

DOH! link was in the vid summery thingy.

Cannot find it? Be nice to see where why and how to understand what is happening in the vid.

edit edit edit... Flippin eck, trying to find the video to get some perspective on it and the amount of weapons grade bull out there is is well, I suppose not unbelievable. The internet has extended the village green where the idiots live.
