Does anybody know what the 'incident' is that the BBC have been reporting has happened at Scampton?

The details of what has happened are not yet known but the Echo understands it did not happen during flight and there is a medical team at the scene.

It looks like they have now confirmed a pilot has been injured on the ground. No idea of condition yet though.

from the Sky site.

Medical services have been called to RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire after an incident involving a Red Arrows jet and one member of air crew, the Ministry of Defence has said.

Sky's defence correspondent Niall Paterson said the display team's Hawk T1 jet was not airborne when the incident occurred.
Unconfirmed reports state there could have been a problem with an ejector seat.
An MoD spokesman said: "I can confirm there has been an incident at RAF Scampton. The RAF are investigating and will provide more details when they are available."
The incident comes after Red Arrows pilot Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging, 33, from Rutland, was killed in an air show crash near Bournemouth Airport in Dorset in August.

The report from This is Lincolnshire -

A Red Arrows pilot is believed to have died in an incident at RAF Scampton.

The Echo understands the pilot ejected from one of the jets while on the ground and his parachute failed to deploy. It is believed he suffered multiple injuries.

The Ministry of Defence has only confirmed it is investigating an incident and not released any further details.

The Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance was called to the scene at about 11.10am.

It comes a few months after Red Arrows pilot Jon Egging died when his plane crashed during a display near Bournemouth Airport.

I also read on twitter that the pilot was ejected on the ground but the chute failed to open....

The problem with Twitter is that some people will speculate without fact.

st. That's terrible news.

Didn't all Hawks get grounded fairly recently over concerns over ejector seat faults?
