Saw that myself on the way to Hatton Cross yesterday. Nice to see it out on view again.

Why?
Because BAA were bought by some bunch of Spaniads who don't give a toss about our aviation heritage.

I thought it was the other way around - BA bought Iberia.

I was actually asking why have they moved it.

He's talking BAA, not BA. BAA were bought by Spaniards, BA bought Spaniards. Do keep up. wink

Doh.

It's a crazy mixed up world. I get confused.

The former national British airline now owns the former Spanish national airline and a Spanish railway company owns Britain's main airport.

Oh for the simple days.

It gets even crazier...

It was IAG that bought Iberia and are the holding company of BA as well. There's no direct affiliation between the two. IAG also bought BMI and have recently decided to merge them with BA. It wasn't a done deal and could have potentially turned BMI into a 3rd airline in the IAG stable (amongst other options).

No idea at the mo Eric as to why she's been moved.

Do Ferrovial have railway interests?

Offhand I'd say there was a clue in the name.

Ferro = Iron

Vial = Way

Spanish for railway.

The deal is still yet to be approved, BMI are still out on their own.

She was moved so that BA could do some groundworks in preparation for the new A380 hangar (it will house 2 inside and 1 nose-in)
My company has an office on-site at BA so when I pop in my route back from the Canteen is adjusted to walk by her:

The A380 doesn't look a whole better in BA colours - I have to say.

Thanks for the explanation as to why Concorde was moved. I knew there had to be a logical reason.

It makes me so sad when I see Concorde on the ground rather than in the air frown

Even now it looks advanced for its years, I wonder if I'll see something similar within my lifetime.......

Hopefully one day something will be in the skies that is a worthy replacement.
Doubt Concorde will ever fly again though.

Just a museum piece now from better times.
