I guess in the way that Concorde and the QE2 were fantastic to look at, almost if not actually art, where the 380 and that ship look like over weight blobs.
Art and aestheitcs is one thing. Capability, economics etc are another.I love Grand Prix cars from the mid 1960s. But they would be wiped the floor with by modern GP cars.

In what way "regressed"?
Because the QE2 & Concorde look amazing, modern & incredibly impressive. The A380 is about as exciting & interesting to look at as a cheap fridge. Modern technology is hidden and taken for granted - but that doesn't mean we've regressed.

If the Vulcan can be still be flown why not Concorde?
I know it's just a pipe-dream but wouldnt it be good to see a piece of engineering genius back in the air where she belongs?
No comparison.I know it's just a pipe-dream but wouldnt it be good to see a piece of engineering genius back in the air where she belongs?
This old adage gets dragged up every time someone utters the word "Concorde" on PH. It's been debated and explained to death, Concorde CANNOT be flown without authorisation from the type certificate holder i.e Airbus. This will not be forthcoming so Concorde CANNOT be flown again.
