But, being a pilot, I base my real opinion on how it looks. In this case, we have a new champion. Beautiful, it is.

Anyone know if it will fly anywhere near East Midlands Airport? If so, any details?
Apparently between 8.30 and 9 tomorrow morning. Flypast along the runway.

Assume that is a lie flat?!

I would imagine most airlines will fit out the aircraft with their own unique cabins / seats though - so I'd not expect to be parking my arse on that any time soon...

Do you happen to have a link to a site to track it so I can leave the hangar I work in and watch it?

It has been flying on the flight number BOE787, don't know if it still is.

If the flight number changes you can also find it on FlightRadar24 using the reg. number which is N787BX.

Keeping an eye on the site linked to see when its close, the rain here means a quick exit rather than a prolonged outside trip.

Just north of Reading at 15,000 feet. Won't see it from Farnborough as there is too much cloud.

I think the 787 looks great but it's a bit disappointing considering the original Boeing yellowstone Y2 (75/767 replacement) design was the sonic cruiser.

Even the original 7E7 was a bit less conventional in design.

Still a great looking aircraft and flight deck with HUDs.

I don't like that spooky picture on one of the LCD screens. Is the 787 haunted?

OMG just noticed it.

It's an image of Jesus on the PFD. What does it mean?

Does the 787 have rolls Royce engines, as it's just gone very close to the factory where I used to deliver engine bits yrs ago.

It certainly does. At the 2010 Fanborough Air Show it performed flypasts flanked by a Spitfire and Hurricane.
