I am off this week and I'm tempted to pop up to Lakenheath to watch the jets come and go.

Will I see much action?

Is there a preferred place to spot from?

Thanks in advance. biggrin

there is a car park right outside the perimeter fence at the end of the runway. Couldn't be better really.

Ta for the links & information.

Does anyone have any first hand experience of going spotting there? I am going up tomorrow or Fiday for the day.

I live just up the road and pop up to see what's going on every now and then. They've been feckin' noisy the last couple of days (not sure whether it's an excercise on) so you should see something!

If you're coming from the A11 (from London way, Barton Mills/Five Ways roundabout) if you head towards Brandon (2nd exit if coming from London), you'll go past the end of the runway after a few miles. Just after the runway, there's a set of traffic lights; turn left there and there's a viewing area on the left. There's usually a burger van there too smile

It's fixable...

Bodney Camp is rammed with British Army artillery troops at the moment so I guess the Eagles are training in air to ground over STANTA and the artillery boys are training to shoot them down.

Good blue on blue practise for the septics.

Many thanks to you both. I should be there for lunchtime tomorrow if the weather is half decent. spin
