Hope the 'brass' at PH Towers do not mind, but a bit of a shameless plug for one of my ships at the Diamond Jubilee on the Thames on June 3rd.

http://news.sky.com/home/uk-news/article/16229562

Some PH'ers will recall going out for a day sail on the same ship last year on the PH Tall Ship Sunday Service.

Anyone else on here on Thames that day?

Note to Self - must sack the Captain for leaving the laundry out when film crews are onboard...

My application got bumped, then we made plans to go to France that week, then they called to say someone had dropped out and would we like to join in, it was too late to change plans, but my chum is going in his Huntsman 28.

It would be nice if I could simply magic myself to the bankside - but the prospect of fighting my way through 2,000,000 people, st, crap and packed or broken public transport says 'stay at home'.

My Cornish gig rowing club are putting a boat out, I'd love to have taken part but sadly it was a "names in a hat" affair. The Royal barge in particular looks amazing.

Tenacious had great coverage from Sky News with a full team onboard bradcasting live from 0600 on the day with live interviews (me included) every half hour.

We had discussions with both Sky & the Beeb prior to the event with both wating to be onboard for the day. Sky took advantage and sent a full team, setting up and testing all their kit the day before. The Beeb hardly communicated with us and sent a lone cameraman on the day that had trouble beaming his pictures off the ship...

Tenacious was pride of place directly opposite the Royal Barge - I'm pretty chuffed with that.

I got a pic of that from Tower Bridge after the main event.

Gave you a wave from the opposite bank, but you didn't wave back. Very disappointed. frown

Sorry mate, did look out for you, but the London Philharmonic Orchestra & the Royal Barge was blocking my view of you hehe

Vantage points don't get much better than this:
