Think Aunty Beeb may have got something right in the whole shebang, both vids in one.

More of a bomb-aimer's view, but you wouldn't expect the BBC to know the difference. 'Ooh, plane, big plane, gurr!'http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-18334001

My dad flew a shackleton in the Coronation flypass. He is ancient, though. (Same age as Queenie).
Now THAT was a flypast - http://www.britishpathe.com/video/coronation-fly-p...
600 aircraft took part.

Why did they not have these shots wirelessly for the show? Seemed to miss a trick there, would have been great!
It's a good question. I seem to recall they tried to do it at the wedding.A possible reason is that it's likely that none of the major wireless suppliers have equipment that has the necessary approvals for use on those particular aircraft. If that were the case, and it's only that I'm speculating, I don't think anyone would be willing to spend the necessary small fortune on having the approvals made. It costs many, many thousands of pounds to have your equipment approved for flight, and even then, it gets approved for specific aircraft and nothing else.
I would also question whether anyone has a mount suitable to attach an antenna to, that would fit any of those aircraft. Again, having something made would cost a serious amount of money.

They are the RAF's current navigaton trainers so are part of the current RAF and deserve to be part of the display.
Not exactly Eric! The Nav trainers were the Dominie T1s of 55(R)Sqn that were retired last year (XS709 is in the museum at Cosford).
The King Airs are operated by 45(R)Sqn in the Multi-Engined Pilot Training role and replaced the Jetstream T1s back in 2003. 45(R)Sqn at Cranwell is what used to be METS (Multi-Engined Training Squadron) at RAF Finningley prior to the move to Cranwell at the end of 1995.
I imagine they were in the flypast owing to the combination of the grobbly weather and their modern nav aids.
The last Dominie course was completed in January 2011. The last Hawk phase of the Fast-Jet Nav course (on 100 Sqn at Leeming) completed last month.
With the planned retirement of Tornado GR4 in 2020 and Camerloon's crazy canning of any MPA capability for the UK, the RAF no longer needs to train WSOs/WSops.
