Just had a Gloucester Meteor and De Haviland Vampire go low over my house in close formation.

Look to have come out of Staverton.

I just posted the same - they flew low over Hempsted & banked right towards Staverton so they must have headed straight over Cheltenham as they didn't land at Staverton.

Odd flight path to Yeovilton - they wouldn't have had time to land at Staverton.

They departed from Yeovilton Air Day this afternoon.

I don't know - they were flying way too fast to get look. Knew what they were because I know that always fly together in close formation.

Wouldn't have thought that they were doing a run in to Yeovilton as they too far south for that. Very strange flight path.

Originally, the company did spell their name like the county. Eventually they decided that foreign customers would have trouble pronouncing it so went for a more phonetic spelling.

Lockheed did the same - they originally spelled their name Loughead.

There is a county too - which can be referred to as the County of Gloucester, if you want to.
