Most RAF bases have gate guardians although not all are visible from outside the base - Marham and Leeming are two that spring to mind (Marham has a Victor, Leemings is a ...er... er.. I forget, something like a Buccaneer. You should be able to see it on Google Earth).
Talking of which, the Hawker Hunter outside RAF Waterbeach disappeared last week. Gather the base (most recently an army barracks?) is being shut down. Hope it's gone to a good home.

Marham has three, a Tornado which is visible from the main gate as well as a Victor which is just visible and a Cannerra which you won't see until your half way round the camp.
The only bit of Marham I visit is just behind the guard house so I must admit I didn't know there was a Canberra. I'll have to try to wangle a tour next time I'm down there biggrin
Forgot about the Tornado paperbag

Leeming's is a delta wing... Gloster Javelin! Knew I'd get there eventually.

Thanks for answering.
One other question if I may, When a plane does a loop why do they always start low and go high. Is it possible
to start high and go low, over the top so to speak?
I guess you mean an "Outside Loop" Quite common but not as comfortable as the pull up variety because of the negative G involved.

I think he means a Split-S followed by an Immelmann turn type thing.
