Aargh this thread didn't go as planned. I wanted to know what it was up to not what it was.

Never mind, the sneaky Islander is up now.
Oh, well I can tell you some of the things we got up to when I was flying survey, if that helps?
Is Gerald Cooper still running his Commander(s)? out of Wickenby - I remember he pitched up at the aerobatic Nationals at Conington a few years ago - 2005 or 2006 - to give a bit of support in what I think was a Turbo Commander. Decided to go round on the first approach though - I could have told him he was never going to get it stopped on the runway when he was doing what looked like 240 knots over the threshold. With the gear up. Climb performance on the go-round was impressive though.bow

You did say "what is it?" in your original post.

One of the best trips I had was a photographic survey in a Navahoe Chieftan G-NERC out of Coventry. We spent about three hours running up and down the Gower Peninsula
taking photos, then came back at approximately zero feet through the Brecon Beacons :-) Cool what you can get away with in a survey aircraft ;-)
