I currently have an Avon Adventure 400 with a 50hp Yamaha on the back and I'm wondering if I wanted to tow the kids about on doughnuts what would I need to fit? Do I need a ski pole somehow fitted to the floor or is there something I can fix to the back transome? Oh and any suggestions on Doughnuts? Have I mentioned I'm going on holiday?

You don't need a pole just use a ski bridle to the tie down hooks on the transom.

As above, the Avon 400 will be able to tow a donut from the transom using eyes easily. If you have already, get some U-bolts fitted each side of the engine (I'd have thought there would be some already fitted though) and a towing bridle to attach the tow rope to.

We sell donuts, tow ropes, bridles and U-bolts if you're down my way (Lymington).

It is currently fitted with a Stainless bar which goes up over the engine and has the lights fitted to it. I think this is in the holes that anything else should be bolted in to. If I get a y shaped rope it sounds like I could attach it to this. It's fairly solid but it is just attached to the transome. I guess that has really got to be the strongest part of the boat as it has got the engine strapped to it! Doh, just thought about it!

Yeah, transom is the strongest part. But careful of towing from the A-frame as the frames fitted to the Avon 400 aren't designed for towing and therefore aren't particularly strong. You're better off towing from the transom directly. Can you not extend one of the A-frame bolts and fit an eye nut on the end of the thread? Then you can tow from the eye nut.

I like the sound of that idea!
