Yes, that Whitley is a Mk.V - which was powered by Merlins. Earlier versions of the Whitley were powered by the air cooled Armstrong Siddeley Tiger radial.

Anyone else see a lone Red Arrow over Fleet yesterday and a large WW2 era twin engined bomber (three white stipes on each wing from memory)?

The lone Red Arrow is probably the privately owned Gnat which is painted in Red Arrows colours.

The other aircraft sounds mopre like a DC-3 in D-Day markings.
