Longest scheduled non-stop duration? Perth to Trincomalee, 28 hours. It was a few years ago.

Dont know about the longest, but I flew somewhere in the middle east, all of about 10 minutes ground to ground, in fact I dont think it was that long. Cant be many shorter than that.
The shortest scheduled flight used to be between two of the Orkney islands. My friends Dad used to do it before he got sacked for being an alcoholic. Currently Doha to Auckland is the longest non stop flight which is in excess of 9,000 miles. The new Qantas Perth to London non stop flight will travel further once routes are scheduled over middle eastern flying zones and wind directions. Either one is too long to spend on a plane even in a First Class Suite. Seventeen plus hours!

On holiday in Morocco about 30 years ago, we did a day trip from Tangier to Gibraltar and back, on G.B. Air, or maybe U.K. Air, flight time was 10 minutes I think.
I’ve been to Belfast from the Glasgow airports a few times and they seem to take almost no time too with little traffic.Planning an antipodean trip next year. Think one can fly Edinburgh to Doha - must avoid the Doha Auckland belter of a flight then
