J3JCV, when you go back in the water let me know, mine is still out on T5 just of the Prince of Wales Pier.

Old wooden thing staying in over the winter.

Will do Phud.

For the record I personally had nothing to do with the paint work - turns out the best way to train apprentices up to the standard of a $60m yacht, is to let them lose on a donor vessel smile Full Awl Grip system too. There may be a small amount of teak strake being added as well.

Cant wait to put her back together and this was also a great opportunity to stop the leaky stern tube too.

Looking forward to a smart, dry boat - who would have thought.

Just sat and read through this thread - and what a lovely thread it is. A nice record of the work done and times enjoyed with your family.

I know the square root of damn all about boats which I shall now prove by saying that the lovely new colour scheme reminds me of one of QE2s Cunard schemes.

Thank you, one of the reasons I created this thread was to remind myself! Also that boating can be on a serious budget (forgetting the paint part),

Her current colour is Awlgrip Flag Blue and Off White - I'm not sure about Cunard ships but that is a very popular combo on a lot of Superyachts.

Can see you easily from the road just below my house, unfortunately we look out towards the docks, St Mawes way.

My friends in the salt and pepper pot house on the other side had a great photo of it blowing 45kts from the North, the sea was whipped up and the sky was very moody, i could make out Wayward but it wasn't great res.

Yep very lucky, although I have just given up my job of 11 years in the Shipyard which had a view straight across the water to St Mawes Castle! I still walk the dogs on the beach every day however, so not all bad.

Well I am hoping that no phone calls from anyone means she is still on the mooring.

The shipyard seems to be doing better than A&P, it's good for the town, we just need a habour group who understand the water not making money.

Will be fun to see how St Mawes develops in the next few years, cost of coffee over that side is same as that London place.

Pendennis is doing brilliantly, they now employ over 460 staff and use plenty of local subbies on top of that too.

I'm now at Cockwells and I hope to follow in Pendennis' footsteps with growth and development, all be it on a smaller scale.

I looked at getting her done there, but it was difficult to get her there.

I think falmouth is home of the wooden boat and as an area more needs to be done, guess why thats why mine is here..

Must get a pint in and have a real chat.

It's not all pasties and pints, sometimes we need to hide from gales, walk the beaches and talk with our neighbours.

However it is a great place to live and work if one can.

Am going to install an eberspacher to reduce dampness.

Moving a custom project up river.

Bits going back on, doesn't look 20' from this angle more like 12!
Rudder is still in paint and not attached.
Most people wanted me to leave the pulpit and guard rails off - but that's where the kids spend a lot of time - so needs is must.

Not the Puffin, but wanted to share this pic I took coming back up the Penryn river just before 5 this evening. Chilly but beautifully serene, so much so I dropped the revs and near enough idled back and it was dark when we hauled her out smile Was in our latest Duchy 21 and I must say I'm loving my new job!
