VeRA flight cancelled today due to low cloud....am in Lincoln and it's piss poor weather
That must be why the two didn't show to show at the Ayr air show( try saying THAT when pissedsmile) Shame, maybe they were worried if they came to Scotland that Salmond would impound the lot and use them to found independent Scotland's new air force, on the grounds that as a wingnut was made in Paisley that makes them Scottishsmile
At least XH558 got there
What are the chances of them making a journey tomorrow as scheduled before?

I was told that the Canadian Lanc is treated as a commercial airliner, and has a transponder, which can be tracked on a web site. Is that right?

Saw them today near whilst playing cricket up above Holmfirth , the game stopped and we had a great view as they circled around us.

Was gutted that yesterday's display in Ayr was cancelled, having travelled 'back home' especially to see the 2 Lancs. Went out this morning though to the approach just outside the airport and was treated to a couple of flypasts as they arrived. Magnificent and a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Was at Kirkby for the three Lancs event this afternoon and have to say it was a wonderful thing to watch. Will flick through my pictures tomorrow and post anything worth looking at although most of the views will be the back of people's heads.

An amazing day at East Kirkby yesterday, everything fell into place for the event. The weather was perfect, the sound of the 8 merins overhead, the side show. Everything added up

Saw them briefly bank towards the Thwaites factory about 3pm Sunday. Awesome sight, even better noise. I wanted to get pictures but didn't want to look at them through a screen!

What a great post. It's like a scene from a film.

I bet a man was sitting watching from a tractor and a pretty girl waved from her bike as they flew past. hehe

Indeed!

Little nugget of info too..

Courtesy of EGXWinfo Group

'Just looking at the latest, it looks like engine 3 or 4 being a problem but I will look to confirm. Instead of trying to fix the engine at DTV they are going to replace the Engine. This is possible with an engine from East Kirkby who has Lancaster "Just Jane" in ground run condition. I believe the Engine is or soon will be on its way DTV so it can be swapped over, checked and back airworthy. I would guess they will then bring the faulty engine back to the BBMF who will be better set up to repair the Engine but this is just my speculation. At the moment we are still looking at a scrubbed weekend for Vera but you never know so keep a watch on this page for updates. At the moment all this info is unofficial but I wanted to pass it on first as it could take me some time to trace the story back to source or find official confirmation'
don't know if this has already been posted but if not...

I saw the pair over Holmefirth yesterday. Along with lots of others lining the sides of Holme Moss I was a bit disappointed as they turned south well before reaching us frown

Looks like Southport airshow for me now smile

A great write up (with lots of photos & videos) by the guys from the Friends of Durham Tees Valley Airport about the visit of Vera and her hiccups which they helped sort out.
