Canadian Lancaster to visit the UK
Discussion
Update:
"The planned flypast over Derwent Dam will now take place 30 minutes earlier than originally planned. The two Lancasters will now pass overhead Derwent Dam at 1615 hours, weather and serviceability permitting."
Someone jsut told me there was a problem with the landing gear one one of the Lancasters, but it's now fixed. Not sure how true, or how old the story is.

Anyone have an idea of the flight plan for tomorrow?
I know the route. What do you want to know? How many runs are planned?
How close together will the aircraft be - is it likely to get them both in one image with the dam wall?
Ta.

Is it the same as last years, ie over the Derwent Dam wall at low level, then departing down the valley?

The route shows north to south only 1 pass (although this could change) height is shown as 500ft AGL the spacing will no doubt be the same as every flypast for the last 2 months as that was found to offer the least turbulence. How many runs are planned?

As for SW Sheffield draw a line from the derwent to bakewell and you should be close.

A bit late to post this but having seen the flypast at Goodwood on Sunday, as they flew over the place was silent. You could hear a pin drop as the Merlins departed. Moving is an understatement.
We noticed this last week at Duxford, very eerie, a friend who was further along the flight line said all he could hear was people crying.Quattromaster said:

Normal BBMF routine then?
You need to remember they're not showing off the aircraft so someone can get the best photo they're doing it to remember those who flew for our freedom. Which is why for me, despite the expansion in numbers of civvie owned and flown warbirds, which are lovely, a BBMF display is still just that bit more special to me.
1455 - Take off Blackpool
1500 - Display Southport, transit north of Preston, north of Blackburn, south of Burnley
