There will be a LOT of very disappointed people as a result! Obv they can't risk the crew or the craft, but such a shame if you have been looking forward to it.

They're back at Coningsby and I think an announcement is to be made tomorrow regarding Sywell, which at the moment is (or was) the only event there appearance hasn't been cancelled for.

Of The 2 spits flying with the Lancasters yesterday would either have been Griffon powered as opposed to Merlin ?

The last update from BBMF was all events cancelled, except Sywell, which may or may not happen...

The winds have really picked up so I doubt they'll fly to be honest. But, since I suppose a decision could still be made in the next few hours pray the weather Gods look down favourably.

Though even if they do decide to go ahead with the Sywell appearance, the Spitfire & Hurricane may not necessarily fly (they were only accompanying them on the second sortie) and they can always change the route.

Sywell being closer to CGY and possibly being after the weather front has pushed south of there in the afternoon is probably why that's being left as a possibilty. Wind is currently gusting at 40+ down over Kent so I've heard, so not surprising that BBMF have cancelled everything else.

All flying by BBMF/Lancasters now cancelled today.

Courtesy of CWHM "Although we were hoping we could make the Sywell Air Show today, high winds are going to keep us on the ground. Like you, we are very disappointed as well. Looking forward to next Thursday - both Lancasters together with the Vulcan in a formation never to be repeated!"

RAF Waddington I believe. But don't confuse me with someone who really knows what's happening!

Shame they couldn't arrange for a proper Vulcan and 2 x Lancs formation in the air rather than just parked on the ground.

It's a shame I didn't pop into here earlier today, it would've saved me an hour sat in field near Wyton! The good news was I heard them while in the tub last night, leapt out to soak all the carpets near the windows and saw them fly right past my house biggrin
