Was looking forward to going here on Sunday, but it's totally sold out. frown

I noticed on the Gransden Airshow website that a local farm shop had some tickets left so on Mon afternoon I drove over to Gamlingay from Milton Keynes and managed to get hold of two tickets. The person in front of me bought 10!, probably on ebay now.
Locals were collecting tickets for friends and family. The farm shop (Gamlingay) and also Post Office (Gransden) along with Premier Travel in Huntingdon are now sold out. Hamilton's in St Neots had some yesterday as I encouraged a friend to get some. And I think he still had a few, but someone was going in this afternoon for some so not 100% how that turned out.

I bought ours a while back and my Dad has a pass.

They always have a good flying display for such a small airfield. Really looking forward to this. And weather still looks to be fine and holding.

Going to watch them fly out from Waddington this afternoon and then zoom over to Metheringham where they are doing a flypast.

I think I'll be heading out there then. Is the old airfield easy to find?

Just watched both Lancasters go over the office on their way to the Clacton Airshow (with Spitfire & Hurricane following) - fabulous sight & sound.

I got stuck in traffic in Lincoln. But there were plenty of people lining the A15 just off the city centre so I assumed the formation would be in that area.

Luckily they were. I saw them leave Waddo in the distance then they came back over for a pass. Was brilliant.

Cheers for the help.

Just wow. proper wow.

Missed Waddington due to van issues at 6am, so headed to Coningsby instead...

Had all sorts playing before they turned up, but when they did, the mound viewing area was rammed, and all the CGY raf staff were lining everywhere they could to watch, a truly amazing sight.

Well worth the effort of finding somewhere in the middle of nowhere to see them.

Having looked at the routing, I took the gamble they would fly directly from Metheringham Airfield to RAF Coningsby and, fortunately, I was right! I parked up in the middle of the fens, just south east of Metheringham. In contrast to Lincoln and the other flypast 'hotspots, I didn't see another soul for the hour I was there except for a farmer cutting hedges... biggrin

Not my best pictures but at least the sun came out!

Not far off.

The Lancaster stems from a 1936 Air Ministry spec (P13/36). The Vulcan was from a 1946 Air Ministry spec (B35/46).

I've seen a lot of old planes, but never two Lancasters together.

Wonder how the Canadian one got to UK?
