This is going to be great hoping they are going to do east Kirby on 25th August so we can see all 3 together!

Just read this on the BBMF site, first stop PH.

This is an amazing opportunity, and I imagine Duxford airshow September 13/14 will have them both there. Whatever happens this summer, I want to see this

I wouldn't be surprised if they wheeled their own out of the 'Airspace' hangar for a 3-ship (static) photo opportunity.

Very exciting. I remember biggin hill in (I think) 1993 when they had a B24 liberator and flew together with a B17. Now that was a great spectacle

Very much so, so close and yet so far to being able to have all 3 in the air together over the UK, the last time that 3 were in the air together was during filming of the Dambusters in 1953.

I expect it's all round better (and quicker) than de-assembling and shipping over to put back together, then reverse to go home

B17 Liberty Bell flew over a few years ago without any trouble so the Canadian lanc should manage fine .

All that water would still give me a twitchy bum.

Great news, also hope she visits East Kirby as tying that up with props and pistons would be excellent.

This was 2008 so you must be thinking of something else. Sadly she was destroyed by fire in 2011.

Disasembling and shipping and re-assmebling something the size of a Lanc would be an immense task, much easier to fly it across, as has been done with more than one B-17 and CAF's B-24 in the past 20+ years. Indeed many smaller twins have been trans-altlantic ferried across as well in that time, several B-25's and TFC's F-7F both ways. The Mosquitos went via ferry flight in the early 80's via the same route, and even single engined fighters have been ferried via the same route at time during the past 30 years, including several P-51's, a Bearcat, Hellcat and a P-38 (both ways)

This is brilliant news, and certainly one I don't want to miss. I'm trying to think of airshows throughout August and the first ones that spring to mind is Eastbourne & Bournemouth? Maybe hopeful but it would be great!
