Lovely hot day, 'good seats', nice array of aircraft, and enough noise to keep me happy

Fantastic day out today! We were there when the gates opened at 9.00 a.m. and saw it right through to the end. Amazingly, absolutely no traffic issues either in or out.
So many great things to see it's impossible to describe, both military and civilian. Weather was incredibly good after a worrying start - umbrellas up until about 10.00 a.m.. Guess there may be a TV highlights show some time.

If the Met office was still in Bracknell i would go thereand strangle the buggers.
torrential rain etc etc
Im off tomorrow around the back for free!
What sort of turn does the Connie do?
Come and park outside my house, most of the planes seem to fly over it at about 200 feet, getting a little tedious now.torrential rain etc etc

Due to the forecast we decided to go tomorrow instead of today, so sat on the hill at the west end of the airshow this afternoon with a rucksack full of waterproofs getting sunburned I'm guessing it'll be heaving tomorrow as a lot of people will decided Sunday looked like the better weather.

Eagle-eyed readers will note the squadron number "29" on the front canard.
Allegedly the three "X"s on the tail fin were also supposed to state the number "29" in Roman numerals. The story goes that the sign painter, not being familiar with Roman numerals above the number twenty, asked how it should be done and was told,
"Do a double-exe for twenty, then add one exe"......
Quality day. Stood at the sulzer roundabout and had all manner of stuff flying right over the top of us. It was packed with people.
Vulcan hugely impressive and slow compared to the F18 which was very entertaining. Stayed until the eurofighter had done its flight which again was very impressive in both noise and how it was thrown about.
Did I see one of the Red Arrows had to "go around" ??? At the end of their display they all landed in line but one of them ( couldnt see which as trees in the way ) reappeared under throttle and back up she went for a right circuit with gear down but a much tighter circuit than before ????? Curious ???
