So, could be already happening. Not heard anything to be honest.
DC3 in D-Day colours has completed a very cool validation flight from about 11.20 (lots of swooping turns and a VERY low level passes down the runway). He has now landed and taxied over near to the south end of the Airfield. He was followed a short while ago by the World War One flight (5 aircraft, various configuations). That Flight have now left the airspace and headed North, Northwest.H1410/14: Air display will take place

It's great having an office with a complete view of the airfield
Work have bought me a ticket for the show, sadly only for the weekend but it's great for a freebie. I'll probably take an afternoon off in the week and sit up on Ceasars camp or the canal by the AAIB as there's usually a lot more military stuff flying in the week than on the public days.
I miss the days when I worked on the site. Practice week before the show was always great with all the display aircraft going up to get their displays approved and we'd often go up on the roof of the lab to watch. The MiG's use to do their tail slide right above our buildings. I used to cycle to work across the Farnborough site so could often stop to look at something interesting on the way past always amusing to stop and have a look at something parked up the north end of the airfield while there were loads of spotters trying to poke their cameras through the fence.

Well, that saves me from starting a new thread.
The five WWI aircraft flew over my house, twice. Presumably on their way there, and again on the way back.
At least one triplane, what looked like two biplanes and two monoplanes, at least one with those 'skis' to prevent going over the nose. I wondered where they were going, because they headed West at first, toward Fleet. The second time I saw them, they were headed North.
Anyone know where they are from? I'm presuming Shuttleworth is a good bet, but an earlier link takes me to the RAF website (which tells me very little) and the link on their site takes me to the Tangmere Museum website which doesn't seem to mention them at all.
I ran out of the house the second time the flew over, but they were so far away that all I got were a couple of grainy snaps at full digital zoom...
...and even then, the tree at the bottom of the garden meant I only managed to snap three of them together.

The aircraft are relatively modern replicas and are operated by the Great War Display Team.
Here is the list of aircraft they run as set out on their website -

Every damned link I found for them was taking me to the Tangmere site, which has no mention of them.
While googling, I found the sad story of John Day, one of their pilots, and a builder of many of these replicas, killed last year at Middle Wallop in his recently built Fokker EIII Eindekker.

I had to check, because the airshow's not usually for months (and it isn't).
I'm away for most of it, but should catch the last couple of days, so I'll probably wander down and watch from the hill

They are based all over the place as are all in private ownership. Two of the triplanes live at Waltham, which is where they were operating from today.VernalEquinox said:
