On the assumption that most of your flying is in passenger jets, you might want to book a flying lesson at a local club. I think my discomfort stemmed from using the horrible things as a bus, combined with the statistics mounting up in my head.
An hour spent looking at the oily bits, then going into the sky sitting next to the pilot, and asking stupid questions seems to have reset things for the moment, though it's not something I think I will ever actively enjoy.

All of it. Take off, getting up in air, being in air, turbulence.
Diazepam?
Same problem here - although I find sitting nearer to the front is a big help. Diazepam?
Curiously, I had my first helicopter experience a few weeks ago - loved it! Maybe something to do with being able to see the controls and dials ?
I hold a current Airline Transport Pilots Licence, but utterly loathe and detest being in the back of an aluminium tube as much as the next man. It's the claustrophobia, turbulence, the cramped conditions and watching too much Air Crash Investigation
Love and adore flying in all it's forms (mainly helicopters tbh but aerobatics in light FW aswell ) but hate being a passenger.

But contrary to that you know it's the safest form of travel, which makes it irrational...
Seems to me there's a claustrophobia element here as well, and the fact you can't get off half way if you want to. Thought why would you want to? See 'irrational'...
Do you just dislike it or are you getting physical symptoms?

I don't mind flying, but I do mind sitting next to someone in Economy all the way from HK who thinks that personal hygiene is optional. It's not the flying per se, but the hanging around in airports, queuing up, security hassles, mad rush for the seats despite them being allocated and the other tedious mucking about associated with long haul air travel before stepping foot on the plane. Once seated I find that a hefty dose of Diazepam along with a nip of brandy does the trick.
I recently read somewhere (possibly this forum) that these days, with IFE, electronic devices, food served regularly on airliners, Crew insisting we close the blinds after an hour or so from take off (long haul) we're being constantly distracted from the fact that we actually are flying, which is ironic because 50 odd years ago it was an experience reserved for the privileged few.
