Avoid the main routes and you'll be fine.
Or get there early smile Queues weren't too bad on the red entry last year.

The Dutch F16 normally does the full show on afterburner which is quite amusing. Should have been there for this RAFAT "pit display" thing but stuck in the office....

About 100 miles away today (not a good view). Not sure where tomorrow but within sight of the runway.

OK, I was hoping to meet some of you guys on the way there or onsite, so here goes.

I will be leaving Alton between 0600 and 0630, heading up the A34/M4. If anyone fancies a convoy or meeting up on route PM and we can get something arranged. I will be trying to find a spot as close to the centreline as possible and plan on catching as much of the display as possible too. Again, if anyone fancies meeting up then PM me. I hope to see some of you there! If not, enjoy!

You planning on staying there all day? I'll be travelling down from the north so no convoy, but may try to find you to watch some planes.

Ah cool.
I'm going to be either to the East or West of the runway depending what direction they take-off in.

I'll be on my bike so easy to move about and hopefully find a good spot.

Weather looks good btw cool

F35's cleared for Farnborough, validating Sunday, a cheeky flyby of RIAT perhaps?

I am going to RIAT tomorrow but i am taking some other people with me so it will be too expensive to actually go into the show. I need a cheap or preferably free viewing location which will provide a good closeup view of the show, and one which won't already be full up when i arrive. Does anyone have any recommendations please? smile

Should have been working at RIAT today & tomorrow - however due to my boss having a sense of humour failure - she didn't understand why I would rather be paid to see Tom Jones at Chepstow Racecourse last night instead of driving to Fairford just to have my photo taken for my security pass - I'm not there today.

Usually watch the air shows streamed live on PlanesTV however they are not being allowed to stream RIAT so is there any live streaming anywhere?

Well, that was a nice day, no cloud to cause the lower displays, and it stayed sunny and dry all day to the end.

Good displays from the Italians, French, and the Red Arrows, and plenty of fast jets too.

The Apache display includes pyrotechnics, 2 simulated Hellfires, rockets, and the cannon, and you can feel the bangs!

Does anyone have a flypro for tomorrow. I'm working the show but as per most airshows have been given no timetable except knowing when our aircraft are displaying.

Great weather yesterday, had a very enjoyable day. The Italians made it for me, several great displays and the usual enthusiastic commentary, I still struggle to process the manoeuvrability of the Spartan (although the A400M was very impressive as well).

I still think it's a bit of a joke that you need to pay a further £12 on top of your ticket to get a running order, having done so it had little to no relation to the day anyway due to the volume of no-shows (ironically they had more than enough time for a Vulcan display)
