Indeed. However there's supposed to be an announcement today about the USAF having some aircraft on static display. Is it correct that the F35 is not now going to be at RIAT?
If so what a bummer. No XH558, no F35.

There are, I believe, three B52's at Fairford currently so I assume that at least will be on display.

The 52s left on 18th June (were there along with 2x B2s for a NATO exercise in the Baltics). Is it correct that the F35 is not now going to be at RIAT?

My boss for this weekend is currently 'on site' at Fairford.
She been told that the F35's have been pulled whilst at least one, & probably two, B52's will be on the ground as a static display.
However no one really knows as this is only what she has been told today.
As she is ex RAF flight crew she does probably know people on site who wouldn't feed her any bull st!

This is probably closest. USAF pulled most air display participation at the start of the year (budgets & stuff). I think they realise there will be disappointment at the no-show of F35 and are looking to appease by chucking a few statics inShe been told that the F35's have been pulled whilst at least one, & probably two, B52's will be on the ground as a static display.

Yeah, cause its just the same...
I've got three theories: 1)The americans can't be seen to fail to have the F35 turn up at its international debuts (Farnborough/Fairford) and are currently pulling every string known to man to make them turn up. Thus it will magically appear.
2)RIAT are currently on the phone to the Americans saying we turned down the Vulcan for this make it happen or give us something good instead....please!
3)RIAT are on the phone to VTTS 'you know we said we were full, well we've got a slot, please, please (x10000) fill it...
Hopefully I'll be at farnborough next week so will see both anyway...eternal optimist
