Hi,
Probably a walk in the park for the collective knowledge here, (note; Eric Mc I expect full marks). I took these pics at NAIA, I'm interested in the 4 prop Aircraft with the writing on the Tail section, I can make out "Missile Range" but only that, so any info or history on it would be appreciated, I expect it's a throwback from when the US Military were heavily involved in the RP. As for the others, they look weathered and have probably been there a good while.

Cheers
Pete

First one looks like a DC-3, the second one looks like a Lockheed Constellation.

ETA according to a quick google search it's actually a Super Constellation:

From the registrations, the third one is an An-24 and the last one is a Yak-40.

No idea about the other one.

Wow, interesting & thanks for the fast reply..

I had wondered if it was a Connie actually, but my knowledge of aircraft is limited, and didn't want to make an assumption.

When we return to the Philippines I will do my best (or rather get Mrs Texaxile on the case) to get some close up shots, hopefully greasing some palms might get me into the compound for an hour or so to take some pics. Shame to see such a great classic aircraft sat there deteriorating in the tropical heat.

Cheers,
Pete

So the Phillipines impounded it in 1988 and just let it sit there rotting... what is the point?

No4 is a DC-9 or some other McDonnell Douglas variant of it.

Seems to be an assortment of DC-9s lying about. The national airline did operate them for a number of years.
