Hawker Hunter at Goodwood Aeroclub
Discussion
The Royal Navy did indeed operate a number of variants of the Hunter - some of which were fitted with arrestor hooks. However, none were operated off aircraft carriers. The Hunter was never designed as a ship borne aircraft.
The Hawker Sea Hawk was an older design and WAS designed as a naval fighter.

Didn't realise you still had the old jelly mould Tony, re the Hunter i liken them to a thoroughbred classic, terrific looking aircraft.
I've hired the HHA one more than once for trials over the last couple of years and didn't have to ask twice if he could go as fast and as low as he could. To think we paid him to do that, surprised he didn't offer it for free, however £70k fuel bills on top soon sober you up!

Sadly still laid up, haven't had the time for the last couple years, I've been away again, only got back on Tues off again in a couple of weeks. I have promised myself to get it up and running this year though, once I've settled the tax man! Have you Still got the Tam?
Yes, still got it,all legal, but not used much, fallen out of love with it to be honest, needs a few bob thrown at it, been in and out of work for the last 3 years so not had the money to spend on it. They are going up in value, so will sit on it for the time being.Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
