Updated pictures of the Mk3 Airborne Lifeboat featured a few years ago. Launched on the 11th Aug in Totnes and now happily mooring in Dartmouth after over 40 years out of the water. Currently believed to be the only remaining Mk3 afloat (with the added cabin).
Fascinating boat. Jolly good effort getting it back afloat.

I'd love to know more about this. During WE2 my aunt was a WAAF driver. She told me once that one of her jobs was to drive air crew to the dispersal areas. She told me 'her' boys flew a plane with a boat under it.

One night she waited and waited as the aircraft returned. 'Her' boys never came back.

I wish I'd paid more attention to her stories. The air base was at Banff (Sp?).

Am I right in thinking the aircraft is a Liberator?
