Saw various Spitfires etc fly over Crowborough today, presumably on route to Shoreham and some then on their way to Bournemouth.
Probably shoreham the only spitfires at bournemouth is the ex-BBMF spitfire now owned by rolls royce and the 2 BBMF spitfires. Also the above post mentions lancasters. 1 lancaster will still be flying tomorrow with the spitfire tail chase which is an impressive display "weather dependant"
Anyone recommend a place to view the airshow planes coming and going at Hurn? I was thinking of standing at one end of the runway and watching the go overhead but which end? Matchams or Parley?
I remember seing and feeling Concorde take off from Hurn when I was stood at the end of the runway and it went over at a few hundred feet. Very impressive it was too.

Brilliant day today. Fortunately I'm lucky to live within a few miles so the drive, parking etc wasn't a huge issue. Vulcan was the star of the show with one fantastic climb that emitted a huge howl. Herritage flyepast was also brilliant. Even had a quick dip in the sea. Not many airshows you can do that at.
It was packed yesterday on the beach and took us 3 hours to get back to Poole where we were staying but what a show, the reaction of the crowd to 558 and the BBMF was fantastic. Well worth the 8 hours it took us to get from Cheshire to Poole on Friday, seemed like every bleeding road in the country had roadworks or an accident on it
It's a shame it's sooooo busy - would have been nice to walk round the stands but that was almost impossible.
Pretty much everyone stood up for the Lancaster and the great tribute by the commentator - same for the Vulcan. Really good display.
Traffic was a complete nightmare - I was glad we stayed over in Christchurch on Saturday night.

Was there a four ship Tiger Moth display at Bournemouth on Sunday?
I had a flypast by them, in formation, heading north over Farnborough at about 1430hrs. Then at 1830hrs, or thereabouts, another four ship passed overhead, I think it may have been "The Blades".
I'm not sure about Bournemouth, but they (8 of them no less) definitely displayed at Shoreham on Sunday, so most likely returning from there. ETA that the Blades are a different kettle of fish altogether - aerobatic display team sporting (IIRC?) four Extra 300's.
The traffic was fun !! We managed to get a great spot in the Miramar hotel. There was a chap there called Stephen who had sponsored the Vulcan to be there. he was a great bloke
Stayed until 21.00 and watched Miss Demeanor pop back for a display.
I don't think I would bust a gut to go next year. It would of been nice for the RAF to send a Tornado, Typhoon. Chinnok was amazing as always.

The Tiger Moths were pretty slow, and stayed visible overhead for quite a while. The second lot were a dark red colour, low wing monoplanes with a much louder engine noise and were travelling significantly faster. I mentioned them to my wife when I went back into the house, and she said "oh, that's what that racket was".
