have I got this right that the Bournemouth and shoreham airshows are the same weekend? Which ones best?

Bournemouth is probably bigger so can have more aircraft using the airfield as a base, Shoreham will have a number of aircraft transiting through to display. Saying that, I go to Shoreham as it's a lot closer to home smile and Shoreham has quite an impressive backdrop of Lancing college and the downs smile

How was it? and was it busy like Dunsfold was last week?

They are saying limited availability on the gate but might turn up by train tomorrow, so I can sample the Spitfire ale, aiming to get to the station by 0930. Is it far to walk rather than depending on the shuttle bus?

Cheers.

Great show with some different aircraft this year, hellcat, corsair etc. took us half hour to get in and over a hour to get out was the only downside

The Red Arrows are flying as an 8 ship this weekend as Red 3's wife went in to labour on Saturday. He got the call before their display and elected to fly a spare Hawk back to Scampton to be with his wife.

Doesn't get much cooler than that.

These models are almost more impressive than the full size ones. Very impressive flying.

Watching it live on TV, thanks for the link!

After it finished the Lancaster then flew at about 1000ft over our house (outskirts of Ashington) on it's way to the next venue.

Wow, no WOW, what a machine and made my hair stand on end.

Must have got some dust in my eyes as they went a bit watery momentarily wink

Watching now via Chromecast on the big telly. Left the airfield just after the Lancaster as I fancied getting back on my motorcycle.

As I was headed east on the A27 one of the Spifires flew over me in the ssme direction very low. Brilliant biggrin

Oh oh.

Sounds like the Hellcat might have a landing gear problem. The display has been called off and the Corsair is flying alongside to make a visual inspection.

Lanc flew over my house about a hour ago and something fast moving and jet sounding blew over about 10 minutes ago in the Brentwood area so am guessing they are either on their way or back.
