BBC said:
A display of 22 military aircraft from nine countries will fly over Newport and Cardiff during the Nato summit.

The RAF's Red Arrows will be joined by fighters from the USA, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Poland, Portugal and the Netherlands.

The flypast takes place over the summit at the Celtic Manor Resort on Friday 5 September at 09:00 BST.

People are advised to get the best view of the planes from Cardiff Bay at 08:30 BST.

In Newport, the display is expected at about 08:45 BST to the south of the city centre, over Spytty Park, Beechwood Park and Lliswerry.
Never know, might be a few in the area that want to do a bit of spotting. Not sure I could be bothered to get there through the traffic.

I'll be at work out near duffryn so hopefully might see something. Was hoping they'd be flying
in a Cardiff-Newport direction but sounds like they might be coming in from the South?

Not sure. The Bay indicates from that way perhaps? Be interesting where they form up or what ever the nautical term is.

Some cool aircraft flying over Cardiff everyday now.

Some massive helicopter flew up from the docks near where I work and 3 v22 osprey (or similar) flew over my garden today. Never seen one in the air so great to see.

Yep same here V-22 Osprey flyby's over my house in Thornhill Cardiff, wow they where flying so low and really loud. Lots of massive helicopters every evening around the place, just loving the aircraft viewings.

Looks like Marine One (or something that looks very similar) has just flown over too, flanked by another military Helicopter.

You see where they landed? Looked to me like around bhute park. Presumably those things can land on grass alright without sinking? I can't think of anywhere else big enough for five of them.

Livened up coffee though smile

I think they are over the docks. A massive chopper flew out of there the other day and the police helicopter is there.

The Osprey was circling my house tonight around 5pm.
Mynachdy area, probably admiring the stunning architecture of Gabalfa roundabout.

Damn it, Typhoon over my house and camera tucked away. Did not think I would see it this far west.

Thinks. Often get the normal stuff heading for Cardiff Airport depending on the wind. Something for a few plane enthusiasts at the airport?

Edit, dagnabit,,,,, not on radar 24, 2 prop transport thingy

Thats him, after looking it up. The wide bits at the bottom (landing gear storage?) obvious from the angle I saw.

There's not a lot of Transalls left now.

It may also have been an Alenia G222/C27 Spartan.

Oh well, another fits the bill. I saw it from the rear, two engines, over the top wings and them pods where the landing gear go in.
