Just seen on the BBC news website what looks like an F35 parked up on a golf course - surely that can't be the case? Didn't think there were any flying operationally yet?

Not 100% sure though, the picture I am viewing is too low resolution for me to work it out...

Think there were a few pictures on BBC of a giant tube of glue and a giant air fix box and finger prints all over it.

Edit.

What you'll see

Begs the obvious question: if you were the buyer for one of the worlds air forces, which one of those would you choose for a fighter?

typhoon, mirage 2000c, MiG 29, F15C, F16, F18, or Hawk (well, you might not have much of a budget....)

And no Eric. You cannot have a squadron of Spitfires instead!

Seeing as the Canadians still use Hornets and not Superhornets, the F-15. Although I want to say F-16 just because they're the best looking out of that selection IMHO.

If any of you live further East and are interested, the Ospreys and Blackhawks are with AF1 & 2 at Fairford. The majority of the aircraft in the flypast are at Brize.

PS - I would buy the Typhoon

Typhoon every time.

It's the Lockheed-Martin ground mock up. It's actually quite convincing - I got the chance to sit in it at the RAF Marham Families Day last month.

I believe that a fully armed Typhoon replica has also been built on the front lawn at Celtic Manor.

Wouldn't mind that on my drive - aimed at my neighbours house........

Why didn't Jerry call his Typhoon the 'Taifun'? Eurofighter is a boring, bureaucratic name.

Never realised that Typhoon was not the name used by all air forces.

Every day...

Typhoon every time.
Especially as it gives you access to Meteor.
