More likely lots of speculators and tourists. Serious buyers go directly to the factory to discuss behind closed doors the fit, finish and charter rates. Very few 200 ft or more boats are not for charter as often as possible to recoup the vast running costs....dont forget your super yacht also has a huge tender following about a mile behind carrying many of the toys, tenders and additional supplies.....plus car, helicopter etc.

Surprisingly few tourists on the weekdays. It's mostly a trade show in the week.

A surprising number of owners do go. They also go to yards now and then - or yards come to them in the form of interior mock-ups and yard webcams.

In fact, very few of the top 100 boats are chartered, and only around 20% of the fleet as a whole. Quite a few more are commercially registered for tax purposes but aren't used by unknown paying punters.

Very rarely can superyachts recoup running costs through charter without being run into the ground, as it were.

Some have support vessels to carry extra tenders and toys, but it's a rarity.

I've not been before but I'd be surpised if there are lots of non-trade tourists. Day passes are €150! It's a lot for a simple look round but then again, I suppose it is Monaco

Blimey! Been going for years, but I've never met anyone who's ever actually bought a ticket. In fact, I didn't know you even could.

To be fair, I got that from the exhibitor guide and it's the cost if we were to order more on top of the allocation. We probably have the smallest stand at the show but were still given 50 passes to hand out. Have some left if anyone wants.....

We'll be hosting a few beers at the NZ street party on Thursday evening, so pop by and say hello.

Went to Puerto Banus last month and there was a chap with solid gold plates attached to his shoes. He walked onto the largest Yacht in the harbour. Money can't buy style but it can buy a £10 million yacht!

$10 million is the budget for the helicopter on the back

try $1/4 billion.

Don't think it had a helicopter but is was quite large!

The chap in question was jay-walking and had just been nearly run over by a Bentley.
