Sounds really good , Martin conveys a real enthusiasm for things like this. Shame its not two shows or more, but at an hour and a half, hopefully they can combine the back story with plenty of detail on the actual restoration too.

Agreed. We have had umpteen documentaries on Spitfires - but none on the restoration of one. I really hope they concentrate on the later because it is a magnificent restoration.

Guy Martin is a top bloke, very genuine.
This programme should a rare gem in a sea of very poor alledged "restoration" shows.

The biggest thing I like about guy martins shows is that there's sufficient information for those of us who have a knowledge in the subject but also he has a manner that encourages children and those not interested normally to sit down and be quiet during his programmes.

Hopefully we get a load more young engineers that have taken up the trade due to people like him and also the bloodhound project.

Watching his shows I've never felt it's been dumbed down, but is at the right level for everyone. And I agree that I hope his series encourage younger engineers

Even my missus likes his stuff, and she is most definitely in the "not normally interested in engineering" category. She can really relate to the "I could die doing this" attitude from her days as a pillion passenger.

I've just looked and someone has already put it on to record smile. It clashes with "Strictly" - decisions, decisions wink.

Love the short film he did on his Merlin engine, was only shown on 4OD, not sure if it's still on.

Just found out today that my Grandma used to date a Schneider Race pilot. Sid, apparently was a bit of a nutter.

Interesting. I wonder if such types were of ice-cool test pilot mentality, or devil-may-care racers?
