If I'd had £25,000 I would have bought 'Tango' (XS726) from Everett Aero and parked it on my drive to upset my neighbours (I did my first Dominie solo on Tango). At least the airframe has been preserved at Winthorpe.

Couldnt you have done a few more engines up?

Have you flown the Dominie that lives near me in Cosford too? I have a photo somewhere on my hard drive but don't know the serial.

That's 'Mike' XS709 (the first Dominie delivered in 1965) - and yes I've flown that one.

Mike had the largest zero fuel weight on the fleet owing to fatigue repair, so if you were after a beer run to Bruggen or Ramstein, you didn't take him!

But surely a coat of black paint now and again wouldn't "break the bank"?
