One of those airshow 'moments': IAT at Greenham Common, either '79 or '80 - we always got tickets because my Father's Unit was involved in the airshow management.
During a lull, an American sounding voice came over the PA (actually it was Canadian) with the simple comment:
"Ladies and Gentlemen, the sound of freedom."
From behind the crowdline came 4x CF104s not above 50' and knocking on the door of dropping a boom.
To a man (and woman) the entire crowdline ducked in unison.
AWESOME!
Yes it certainly was. Probably '79 as I don't think there was an official Air Tattoo in 1980 (just checked – Newbury Air Festival instead – still a good show though, same organising team).During a lull, an American sounding voice came over the PA (actually it was Canadian) with the simple comment:

Would love to see a pair of Buccaneers low and loud.
Can't wait for MAAM's P-61 black widow to be finished, should be an impressive sight. Reading around, apparently they were amazingly agile for a big twin.

While not fast jets, I would like to see a Bell 47, a UH-1 and a Blackhawk/Merlin in formation.
The RNZAF has only recently stopped using the Bell 47 as a primary helicopter trainer - they're due to display one at Wings over Wairarapa next year. Edited by Mutley on Wednesday 29th October 13:16
For me, I'd like to see the cool cold war stuff - Lighting, Buccaneer, Vulcan, Victor, Canberra, B58, SR71 etc

Empire Flying Boat
Pan-Am Clipper
Handley Page HP42 of Imperial Airways fame (if anyone is good at scuba diving see http://www.rrhobby.ca/Hannibal/flight_cw197.htm )
This impressive non-flying replica of a Boeing 314 Clipper is on display at Foynes, Co. Limerick, Ireland.
In actual fact, Pan Am referred to various different flying boats in their fleet as "Clippers". The older Sikorsky S-42 was also called a Clipper.
Pan Am used the callsign "Clipper" right up to their demise in the early 1990s.

For me it would have to be any of the following (& because I'm bored - some pics);
German;
Dornier 335 (I believe this one crashed killing the British test pilot)
ME 262 - cracking jet at the time
Stuka
British;
Mosquito
Blackburn Buccaneer
Civilian;
DH Comet
Concorde
Out of all the above it would have to be Concorde
One of the best dispays I've ever seen was about 6 years ago at Duxford when S/African airways did a full display of one of their 747s.
