The rear engine caught fire and is thought to have burnt through the elevator control.

It did. The pilot was Group Captain Hards, who was head of Aero Flight at the RAE at that time.

I would love to see;
F35b
Typhoon (Euro Fighter)
F22 Raptor
Tornado beating up the airfield
F15 Eagle
F16 Falcon
F18 Super Hornet
Rafael
Saab Gripen
Harrier FRS2 doing ballet
An EE Lightning
Vulcan
Victor
Nimrod

Never will happen but never mind.

What, all at the same time?

Some of the aircraft in your list are still on the airshow circuit so not very "fantasy" at all.

Can we please stage the fantasy airs how, at my fantasy airfield, Woughton (nr Swindon).
I was there, I think 89, for a Warbirds display and as it hadn't been touched since WWII , it was very atmospheric. I've also a very hazy memory that this was the last time I saw the Vulcan ... before it re appeared smile

Two outstanding moments I would love to see reproduced would be a Hawker Hunter, flat stick in a shallow dive , possibly the most hair raising noise of any aircraft.

For the craziest visual treat , lets put the rulebook into orbit and have the Buccaneer commit to a low , low level pass ,painting its belly green, skimming the airfield grass.

I just thought of another one, the Saab Viggen, not sure if any are still airworthy, if not, that's another fantasy display sorted.
This airshow would be something to behold, especially if some of the pilots I used to see at Farnborough were at the controls as well, the displays used to be spectacular to say the least!
As to venue, I would vote for Biggin Hill. It holds a lot of great memories for me, going there for the Air Tattoo, with planes dropping down into the valley at the End of the runway, then suddenly reappearing. I was also there when the Intruder (I think) crashed into the same valley on take off, carrying passengers as well, sad day.

There is a Viggen currently displaying. It has appeared at a few UK airshows in recent years.

The Air Tattoo was never held at Biggin Hill. The airshow there was usually referred to as the Biggin Hill Air Fair.

The aircraft that crashed there in 1980 was a Douglas A-26 Invader.

This one actually (photographed by me at Duxford in 1978) -

It's all fantasy - so, of course.

I want to see Buccaneers going through at 600+ kts below the tops of the hangers between the hangars again (like I saw at Binbrook many years ago), and I want to see Lightnings doing a 'Survival Scramble' from both ends of the Main runway as well as from the Disused, again. smile

I can't believe that nobody's mentioned the Messerschmitt Me-163B Komet. That would be even better to watch taking off than a Lightning. There is a flying replica in Germany, which has two distinct improvements over the original:-
1. It's an unpowered glider
2. It has a proper mainwheel undercarriage
This means the pilot is a whole lot more likely to be able to walk away from a landing.

Some great suggestions so far, I'd also like to see some of the old Russian kit, a Blinder, Bounder and Backfire would be fairly impressive I reckon. The latter is still flying I know but rarely make airshows I think.

Personally, I'd have to have a Blackbird SR-71 displaying; that's a given.

Others?

Saunders-Roe Princess
F-104
B-36
B-58
Convair XFY-1
VC-10
Buccaneer
Super Connie
MiG-25
Fairey Delta
