Wow that's not a good site. There's a really good photo on Twitter but not sure how to link to it.

So what vehicles are we looking at on board just civics and minis or more high end vehicles like Rolls Royce?

You're thinking of the MV Tricolor I think.

The salvage operation was, according to a friend involved, fun.

Not that one, I think they cut that up in to sections no ? I seem to recall another car carrier that listing right over as this one is with a load of Mazda cars on board and was successfully righted again, but although mostly undamaged, Mazda still wrote off all the cars.

Geordie,

Here ya go! Interesting piece. The enquiry report was eyebrow raising as well.

I wonder how this has happened, I mean it's not like the bank isn't well known and plotted.

Hope all are rescued safely.

Ah, ok.. my mistake. I went onboard a grounded vessel off the northern coast of Cyprus 30 years or so ago, it had been stuck for nearly 10 years. The (open) hold of the relatively small ship was full of Mazdas and Colts. The effect of the corrosion was amazing, the Japanese must have merely opened a can of Dynax S50 near the production line an inch or so before quickly closing it.

Cheers, similar to the salvaging of the Kursk I think, same company if memory serves. I should google this.

Therein lies the question. Did financial cuts which affected safety, contribute to any of this?

would there not be a local pilot on board at that point? If so maybee mechanical failure is to blame?
