Someone will make millions out of being the 'preferred buyer' to handle the lot. Offer a knockdown price citing a load of bo- lox about possible danage and the 'huge' risk they are taking, and then sell the cars for list price less 10% because of no warranty.
Happens so many times.

if Rolls Royce would like someone to drive it around for, say, six months just to ensure that it has suffered from no ill effects, then I would like to nominate myself.

Nope, more like a mate of the Insurers versus the rest of the world. With a kick back to the Adjuster for putting it his way.

I think you mean 'conspiracy theory' wink

He's dreaming if he thinks they'll end up with some 'Del Boy' character flogging them off 'Boycies' forecourt.

Both the insurers and JLR will be paranoid about these vehicles. Aside from the significant commercial considerations, far more importantly, JLR have a carefully cultivated reputation to protect. You can bet the destiny of each vehicle will receive cautious assessment.

I wonder if that pays CC in Central London? What do we think the emissions are like?

ps - Forlornly hoping it is the same as that old wives' tale about the biker getting off a speeding charge as he was going faster than the cameras were type approved for smile
