This Sunday (1st March) Colonel Richard Graham is giving a talk and a tour of Duxfords Blackbird. Last one of these for a year as the American Air Museum building is closing for renovation for a year.

oh what a dilemma!

I got his book for Christmas, I'm 1/2hr from Duxford and I'm fascinated by the whole A12/SR-71 programme, but I've got loads to do!

confused

Any guess as to how busy this is likely to be, it says only first 200 people will be given access. I am currently about three hours away but willing to drive down to this if likely I will get in. Probably wouldn't be able to get there until 0900Hrs though.

Obviously if anyone can help and give me an idea I won't hold them too anything should I not get an entry.

Thoroughly enjoyed that today. Great talk, and I enjoyed the walk around. I made the mistake of trying to get a book at the American museum, but the card machine wouldn't work. Oh well.

Just 1. When you coming back to do another talk?

I didn't make it in the end. I just hope there's another chance once the American museum has reopened.

How heavily subscribed was the tour?

I asked, and the answer was uncertain but positive, based on the auditorium being full - they had never had such response to a winter talk. Although the closure of the AAM may have spurred a few people to go.

I guess it's a case of watch the Duxford/Friends of Duxford site for news

It wasn't until I was looking in the Duxford shop on Sunday that I realised I'd missed the talk and walk-around.

Still, managed to see the B-17 Sally B's undercarriage go up and down a few times which was nice smile
