Hello all, I am vice chair of the newly formed City of Manchester branch of the RNLI.

We have a little bit of fun thing going on to 'win' a Lifeboats wooly hat, the link is on the favebook page.

Although we have reached over 1000 people no one has had a go

Is the wording wrong? is the comp rubbish? I know the pic is not perfect but it is just a hat pic!

Any ideas? want to get the ball rolling? And and all help appreciated.

Probably as we're moving towards warmer weather hopefully. Now if it was for a copy of that Nigel millard book....

What's Manchester about it?

Why would a local connect with the hat. It is after all just a hat. It's not in itself exciting.

Now if you could get people performing at the MEN arena to pose with the hat. Or take it on a tour of the city, then post up a photo a day on twitter and tweet it to @MENnewsdesk.

Somehow you have to make people want that hat for more than keeping their head warm.

I agree in a way, it's not Manchester but we have a big collection on May 1st, this is just supposed to be a fun way to donate a quid and maybe get something in return.

Millards book is superb by the way and worth every penny.
