Except, there are plenty of historic aircraft on display in Germany that carry the Swastika. It can also be displayed in public on model aircraft.
I remember being in the German transport museum in Munich and it had certainly been removed from all the flags on ships and on any aircraft models or display. not a representation of a historic aircraft with its historic paintjob - but you probably knew that's what I meant
even actual historic planes with swastikas on aren't without problems

a Hurricane with the old Finnish airforce blue swastika landed in Germany, causing locals to complain

A debate on this topic arose on another forum and somebody was able to post up pictures of some WW2 era aircraft in a German museum still displaying their Swastikas.
The general rule is that a display of the Swastika is allowed if in the context of a historical feature - such as a museum display, or a display of models.

Found a few showing the Swastika whilst doing a virtual tour of Luftwaffenmusem

And I think that is as much to do with discretion rather than strict application of the law.
so even though not strictly illegal, due to the historic nature of the display, they usually still don't show themso you see, sticking them on a new typhoon, for a laugh, would be both illegal, and inappropriate - as said at the beginning of this little diversion

Looks cracking, hope they keep it for the display season.
Whenever i see a pic of a Typhoon from the front, for some reason i always think two things:Edited by gazapc on Wednesday 15th April 21:10
1)Those inlets look a bit small (although they work, so presumably aren't)
and
2) The bending loads on the pins the canards rotate around must be frightening
;-)

I was expecting to be able to be pedantic and point out the Hawker Typhoon was introduced after the Battle of Britain was over. I'm leaving disappointed.
Me too...!But if a certain pattern of camouflage matched the ground in 1940, why doesn't it now? Perhaps we should paint them all with little housing estates on...
