Is there a big army exercise going on?
Discussion
I live in South Glos, a few miles north of Bristol. For much of yesterday we had Chinooks, Merlins and Pumas flying back and forth north-west and south east. They started up early today and have been repeating the performance but many now with cargo nets and lorries slung underneath.
Does anyone know what's going on?

An idiot in a Range Rover was in the inside lane with his ipad in his hand trying to take a photo!!!!
What a knob.
It was an amazing sight (the Chinooks) bearing in mind that an Saturday lunchtime I was on top of Painswick Beacon as the 4 ship of Fat Alberts lumbered across the sky in the distance.

Four chinooks flew across the m5 this morning, loads slung underneath. Soddin drivers around me all started to slow down to gawp, few drivers were taking pics.
This was around 7.45am yesterday morning - I was heading south bound on the M5 & saw a 3 ship of Chinooks crossing the M5 with large loads slung underneath. An idiot in a Range Rover was in the inside lane with his ipad in his hand trying to take a photo!!!!
