Has there ever been a Pistonheads trip to see the Vulcan kept at Doncaster in a BAE hanger(former RAF Finningly) by Pistonheads members? or does someone from here work / help out there? I was there yesterday with my local Porsche Owners Club region and my lad was given a drink in a Pistonheads paper cup.

The talk given was interesting for laymen such as myself, the Vulcan was impressive close up and the food and hospitality was great. Well worth a visit if enough interest can be mustered to have a group visit.

Apologies for stating the bleedin obvious on a forum frequented by aviation enthusiasts, it is obvious the Vulcan is an impressive site - but to non aviation buffs (such as me), and those who were unaware that the Vulcan was a)kept in Doncaster and b)you could visit it for £12 I thought it was worth a mention.

Yes, there's been a few visits IIRC.

I believe it's an annual visit in February/March

Was announced on our local TV news that the it is the end of the road for the remaining (flying) Vulcan XH558.
It is to be retired at the end of this season. Better make it this year if you want to see it.

As already being discussed on the thread dedicated to XH558.
