I have seen B52's & the Stealth.

However a B1B.......

That's on my bucket list.
Seen it at Riat At least once, and also at Farnborough,in 82 although I think that might have been a B1.

Just to add, my old man has heard possibilities of B-1b's being deployed as well.
How reliable?
I've just posted this, and the response was so arrogant I almost want to raid the piggy bank to pay for them to come if their not currently planned!

Reliable is not a word usually associated with the B1-B......as it's about the most unreliable beast in the USAF inventory hehe

I think the last time I saw a BONE was at Cottesmore back in 2000 when the display a/c blew over all the spotters standing at the end of the runway laugh

I doubt you'll see anything at the weekend, other than maybe them parked up on the pans through the fence.

I would expect they won't be flying again until Monday at earliest....??

Notam shows runway open until 1530. Should be arriving as above.

Nice pic. Can't beat a chute shot smile

In regards to the BONE's not sure if reliable or not fella's but would be sweet. I think Mildenhall or Cottesmore was the last time I saw one in the flesh. Although the overriding memory of RIAT 2000 was standing at the end of the runway and having my fillings shaken out by the Backfire on departure day smile

No one as far as I know, it's apparently just a big exercise.

Rumour has it, something else is en-route. I'm not saying what it is, but it's not a B52 or a B1

Why the chute on landing? surely Fairfords runway is plenty long enough, even for a buff?

No idea, but certainly long enough (its was the European divert for the Space shuttle)
