Morning all,

I am told that Farnborough is getting a couple of V22 Ospreys from the USS IWO Jima today 1245 / 1330 and 1730 / 1800
Will keep an eye out for them.
At least the snow has cleared up and the sky is getting blue.

Interesting, as apparently the IWO ARG deployed a few weeks ago and was off NW Spain a week ago

Maybe it’s like Flightradar24 and military stuff doesn’t show up in the same way for operational reasons.

Yeah, I imagine so smile I'm not sure whether there's a requirement for Marine AIS that's equal to the requirements for ADS-B/electronic conspicuity, either.

That wasn't supposed to be a snide comment at you btw! biggrin

They don’t have to all the time I imagine if operational or training (so pretty much never). We had a call at work once because an aircraft emergency beacon was going off but no one could see a source but the beacon kept moving (this was offshore near Scotland) after numerous calls and digging around it transpired a US carrier group was passing and not on AIS and they didn’t realise the aircraft beacon was going off.

They are back in this afternoon yes. Not sure on the time though. I've finished for the day, sorry!

Anyone manage to see the Swedish Air Force C130 today? Just started shift as it was taxiing through the apron. Lovely hum to it as it rolled past.

Starting to wonder if I actually live under the flightpath in Farnborough, having not seen or heard any of this interesting stuff on it's way in or out.
When the ospreys came in for one of the previous airshows, they approached low & slow enough for some of the trees in the garden to sway.

I'm not far from there and I haven't seen or heard them.

Thought one was coming over me earlier but it turned out to be three Chinooks flying along in formation.
