However it is spilt, it was gobsmacking awesome for th uninitiated into what it is capable of. People like me. I wondered how the fella with the big red hand managed to hang on.

The best RIAT I've been to for many many years (in fact, since my dad used to take me in the early 90s), went on the Saturday and it was just relentless, no gaps during the day at all really.

Did the usual, arrived in the car park at 6:50, drove straight in and we had a seat at the front of the crowd line by 7:45. Left about 5:20, took less than 10 minutes to get out.

Looking at the footage/photos I feel like I'm missing out in the Green Zone though (we arrive through the Green entrance), most aircraft had taken off and turned away before reaching the other end where we were (on the border of Blue, so not exactly right out at the end), and you couldn't see them at all on the runway until they were directly opposite us (usually just when landing) because of the slope.

The Red Arrows unveiled their new Hawk. It has extra nose wheels for a better landing.

Was there a Shorts Skyvan and OV-10 Bronco there as both have just gone over work here in Edenbridge - heading East.

We went along on Sun, excellent display this year with a nice variety of aircraft although the number of statics seemed down this year.
Here's a taster and a link to the rest of my pictures.

I went Sunday and enjoyed it, my first time at RIAT. Got to comment on the cars as well, with this being PH! Saw a nice V8 R8 on the car park. F458 Speciale on display was nice, also a 997 GT2 Clubsport. Saw a Mclaren 650s on the way home as well.

Wow the centre line area looks busy. It was like a relaxed garden party down in the general green zone compared to that!

There were some busy spots, I was right between the two seated stands, but there was a handy hill I was on which meant no one got in the way.
The bad point was the PA system cable ran across the field of view so snappers didn't like it, but it was perfect for the casual observer.

It's a "CHINOOK" - not a "Chinock". The original "Chinook" is an American Indian name for a wind that blows over North America.

We all know that a "Chinock" is a former Welsh leader of the Labour Party
Do you mean "Kinnock" is a former leader of the labour party
