Osprey came over my house but didn't see anything else of interest. Was thinking of going as only down the road from me but then saw that it was sold out.

I've got one spare ticket for Sunday, general admission.
If anyone would like to purchase it, please private message me. It's due to illness.
I've got the email format to send.
I won't be available now until 5am.
Cheers

Well the weather was typically British with a mixture of rain, heavy rain and sun, but mostly cloudy. I thought it was quite quiet today, could talk to most people and everyone was very chilled.

Managed to look inside the Chinnock which is my favorite. Our 3.5 year old twins enjoyed their first major airshow.

Left Cardiff at 7am and got to site at 9am even with a kids pee stop between so not much traffic, and fine getting home too.

Brilliant day. Arrived at about 9:30 and the red route was entirely traffic free. Not even a queue to get onsite. As we arrived the A400M was doing a validation followed by a Chinook and the Polish MIG29 and probably a couple of other arrivals I didn't notice.

Cloud base was fairly low at 1200ft which meant the fast stuff was stuck doing flat displays. The Spitfire and Typhoon synchro pair were first up. Then the Patrouille de France were grounded as they needed 1500ft min. One of the Mirages of Ramex Delta took off for a quick scoot around for checks followed n its return by the Hind.

Then came a flurry of fast jet displays including Belgian F16, aforementioned Fulcrum, Hawk T2 demo, Greek F16 and Typhoon. Then the Osprey turned up.

Went for a walk around the static whilst the Dutch Apache, A400M and BBMF did their stuff. The Dutch Chinook had an amusing Flappy Bird screenshot on one of the cockpit displays smile The P8 had a permanent armed police guard...

By this time the weather had cleared and the sun was out for a full display from the Reds smile and to top it off after the formal end of the display Ramex Delta came out for a full validation display, followed by a full display from the Patroille de France albeit seemingly cut short due to a tech issue of possibly wind.

A few other arrivals finished things off including an E3, RAF Albert and another Herc

All in all, very impressed by the Friday. The lack of a full display programme more than offset by the chilled atmosphere, access, lack of queues and bonus flying through arrivals and validations.

Have to agree, it was very quiet in terms of spectator numbers which did make for a nice relaxed atmosphere. We noticed the armed guard by the P8 too..

Was anyone else lucky enough to see the 109 & a Spitfire come out to play just after 7.30pm?

The pair of them were having a great time beating up the airfield. The 109 put on a fantastic display as did the Spitfire.

Clearly they were having great fun throwing the planes around the skies.

It was an epic performance.

Park and view already full...they've opened the field the other side of the lake which is actually really nice and only a short stroll to the runway.

Anyone know what the traffic was like today? We're there tomorrow and will be going to the red car parks. What sort of time do you think it'd be best to get there?

First time for us s we got in early, parked up by 06:45. As suggested by others we we took makings for a brew and put put feet up in the car. Then failed to spot the walk in queue that grew to around 30 minutes. Security checks and volume of people. All said we were in by 8:30. Then just went to get mugged at the bacon butty bar that managed to upset an awful lot of people by not having any brown sauce biggrin

Traffic was much easier than expected this morning. It took us less than 20 mins from the A417 to parked up at 7:15.

However, we then queued on foot for an hour to get in!

We left at 4:30 to miss the traffic so I missed the MiG but got straight out to the M5 in 20mins

Great day though. I loved the Hind and the F/A-18 and of course the Vulcan.

My lad also loved the KC-135. The American crew were so welcoming and patient with him.

It was terrible (3 hour queue for us). Get there as early as possible and fuel up - my car reckoned it had 60 miles worth of petrol and it's less than 25 miles away. I was on 0 miles by the time we got out of the car park with all the queueing we'd done on the way in. Next time if my wife's not ready I'm just leaving!

What time did you start queueing?
